How can I build confidence in myself?

The key criteria to be confident is how do you look at yourself. I mean what is your body image. How do you feel when you look at yourself in the mirror. Body image needs to be positive. In fact we need to be ok with our physical traits like skin color, height, weight etc. These are the factors that do not change. One should be ok with the way he/she is. What others say is an opinion and not a fact. If the body image is positive, then comes the next step. This is about what you choose to do, Its more about your profession. You need to be good at whatever you choose to do. The above two factors play a larger role in building self confidence. Another trap we need to avoid is keep comparing ourselves with others. Comparison might only make things worse as it depends on with whom are we comparing. Each one of us are unique and our stories are unique. Comparison is not a benchmark to be used to measure our growth. You need to measure your success by comparing with yourself may be a year b

What’s an easy fix for low self-esteem?

First of all we need to understand where this self esteem is coming from. Most of the time, the important factor that causes low self esteem is the belief we carry. Belief is a combination of our understanding about ourselves, people and the world in general. Here very important factor is our understanding about ourselves. I would really like you to find out about this. What’s your understanding about your own selves. Our beliefs are formed mostly by our experiences, what we have heard about self from others, especially during our growth years from childhood till adulthood. It is responsible to the formation of our beliefs. These experiences are stored in our sub conscious mind and become the part of our belief system. The good thing about belief is that it is not there by birth. We acquires it. It is something which is learned and hence we can unlearn it. If you are possibly thinking low about self, its coming from this belief. One has to challenge our own beliefs if they are not he
What can I do everyday so that I build a habit of giving my opinion more importance than the opinion of others? This question is a reflection of the fact that, you might be always going into comparison between what you say and what others say about any topic. Comparison is not a good thing, it either results in jealousy or it invokes your ego. Be careful and stay away from comparison. We need to state our opinion, whatever it might be and at the same time have respect for others opinion. The above explanation is nothing but the attitude each of us need to develop within ourselves.
Why is being an introvert considered to hinder personality development? Aren't introverts successful too? What you are talking is a general perception about Introverts in this world. Its a perception and not a fact. In fact there are many introverts who are still successful in their occupation. Right from Albert Einstein to Bill Gates to Warren Buffet or J K Rowling, all of them are Introverts, yet successful. I need you to not believe in the generalized statements made somewhere and therefore it becomes a cause for your worry. Being Introvert or Extrovert has not everything to do with your personality development. By the way it is not a fact that people who are too talkative have good personality.
What are the best ways to improve oneself? To being with focus on being Assertive. What does that mean. Follow the bullet points. Stop judging people on the basis of how they look. Do not consider others as superior than you nor inferior than you. Whenever you get upset or angry, ask a question to yourself. Is the event making me angry or the way i interpret the event is making me angry. If the second choice is true then try changing your outlook towards events that disturb you.
How do you build confidence in fearful times and take control of your future? Confidence is not something that we need only in times of distress or fear. It is something that needs to be there irrespective of the surrounding environment. Yes, it helps when its utmost needed. The first step towards building confidence is to build up a helpful attitude where we see ourselves as well as others as equals, failure as learning or lessons learnt, success as just another event and look for silver lining in every distress situation. I mean we need to be careful upon what we talk to ourselves as well as what we think about the overall situation at all times. What we believe ultimately starts becoming our reality and it decides our actions or behavior. Also one important suggestion i would like to state is do not get caught into comparison for anything and everything. You are YOU and others as OTHERS.
